During her time at KU, Emily was involved in Jayhawk Motorsports, leading the effort to add the design and manufacturing of a hybrid and electric vehicle, was an Engineering Ambassador and President of Eta Kappa Nu. She won the Anita Borg Memorial Google Scholarship going into her senior year and was a Fulbright Finalist. She interned at Honeywell FMNT in Kansas City, MO working on non-nuclear parts for nuclear weapons in the summer of 2010. The following summer, Emily worked at Exxon Mobil in Joliet, IL in the instrumentation division redesigning their priority one alarm system. Emily also received the Fulbright nomination to study in Germany and was recognized as a Woman of Distinction for her work in the STEM fields.
In her free time, Emily enjoys staying active including working out, cycling and yoga. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, picabooing and playing with her dogs.
Emily is currently working at Burns & McDonnell in Transmission & Distribution, specifically Substation Design.
